The 7th Edition Begins in Style

The seventh edition of the Youth City 2030 was inaugurated on 20th July at 05:00 pm at
the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).

The event is being held under the patronage of His Majesty’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.The Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the function in cooperation with the Tamkeen, as a strategic partner. The Youth City 2030 will run until August 24.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by state officials at the site of the Youth City 2030. Four centres have been set to provide 81 programmes which offer training opportunities in the fields of leadership skills, sciences, technology and arts.

The initiative is designed in line with the ‘Bahrain Economic Vision 2030’ and strives to realize one of Tamkeen’s core objectives to provide support required to develop youth talents in the Kingdom and put them on the right track for the workplace.

SummerCampYouthCity3The participants in Youth City 2030 conducted four mock evacuation drills over two days in cooperation with the Civil Defence, so as to become familiar with ways of dealing with fires and disasters.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa representative of HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), deputed Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohamed Al Jowder in the inauguration of the seventh edition of Youth City 2030 in collaboration with Tamkeen, the Strategic Partner.

On this occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the keenness on the part of Supreme Council of Youth and Sports on implementation of the directives and visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to train Bahraini youth and qualify them to join the local labour market which requires the provision of professional skills for youth to easily access into the diverse fields and business.

His Highness pointed out that Youth City 2030 confirms the kingdom’s strategic plan to train the Bahraini youth in close association with all sectors to pave the suitable grounds for youth to enter the labour market both confidently and strongly.
