Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications company in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) will commemorate the 10th anniversary of their hugely successful partnership with a new identity for the Zain Bahrain Basketball League. The design was unveiled at a press conference at the association’s premises in Umm Al Hassam, which was attended by BBA President Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Zain Bahrain General Manager Mohammed Zainalabedin, and prominent basketball players in the league.

The unveiling of the logo, which was inspired by Zain’s values of Radiance, Heart, and Belonging, coincides with Zain Bahrain’s annual support for the league, which is aimed at developing the sport in the Kingdom. The company’s contribution this year is the largest so far. It is in line with Zain Bahrain’s Corporate Sustainability program, which includes the support of Youth as one of its pillars. It also aims to bolster high level government initiatives which aim to turn the sports sector into one of the Kingdom’s prime industries.

Shaikh Isa thanked Zain Bahrain for its support over the years, which has helped popularize the sport and win over a new generation of fans.

“Basketball is today one of the most popular sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, both among spectators and players,” said Shaikh Isa. “A lot of this is due to Zain Bahrain’s unwavering support over the last nine years, and as we enter the 10th year of this highly successful partnership, we now unveil a new identity for our national basketball league which we expect to drive further excitement for our beloved sport.”

Zain Bahrain General Manager Mohammed Zainalabedin added: “We are pleased to be able to make a more significant contribution to the league this year. Our partnership has always been mutually beneficial, as basketball’s popularity has been steadily increasing in Bahrain, largely due to the great work that the association has been doing over the years. We look forward to further developing this partnership in the future in order to help Bahrain produce even stronger players, both male and female, who are able to compete on the world stage.”

Zain Bahrain has supported numerous sports activities in the Kingdom over the years, including the Muharraq Football Club. It also has its own sports team, Zain Racing, which takes parts in different types of racing events and is officially recognized as “Semi-Pro” by the karting world’s premier ranking agency, SODI World Series (SWS). The team is currently ranked 10th worldwide.
