Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications company in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has implemented, as of 12th July 2017, a new registration process for postpaid and prepaid mobile services applications, in accordance with the latest regulation issued by the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The new SIM-Card enabled telecommunications services registration process, being enforced by the telecom regulator across all mobile operators in Bahrain, specifies that all individual and corporate customers applying for postpaid and prepaid mobile services must provide specific documentation, including a valid ID, and a scan of their fingerprints. These scans will be verified by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) prior to the mobile services activation. The new regulation also specifies that a maximum of 10 prepaid lines can be registered under an individual subscriber.
