Zain Bahrain, a telecoms innovator focused on enhancing customer experience, supported micro businesses participating in the second edition of ‘Kun Muntijan’, a one-day event organised by Tamkeen. The micropreneurs were invited to participate in Zain Bahrain’s in-house learning and development courses and in ‘Khameesna Zain’ (‘Zain Thursdays’), a showcase for local start-ups held every week at the operator’s Seef headquarters. Zain Bahrain also presented them with voice and data packages and support hardware, tailor-made for startups with low cash flow, as part of the company’s commitment to youth empowerment and innovation, two pillars of its recently revamped corporate social sustainability programme.

A host of small business owners, including Instagram and home-based sellers, participated in the event at the Gulf Hotel, which included workshops and an exhibition by leading companies and support organisations offering tools to help fledgling enterprises grow.

“Bahrain is currently going through something of an entrepreneurship boom, with many success stories being reported of micro-enterprises growing to become successful small and medium-sized businesses,” said Zain Bahrain Corporate Communications Manager, Samya Hussein. “Zain Bahrain will continue its support towards startups and provide them with not only advice, but practical solutions to help them overcome the challenges they face while they go through learning curves and wait for their business ideas to take off.”

Zain Bahrain has been a key partner in supporting both editions of its ongoing ‘Kun Muntijan’ initiative.
