Zain Racing’s May Alhaji wins 2nd for two categories at Ironman 70.3

May Alhaji of Zain Racing, Zain Bahrain’s in-house team for all kinds of racing events, has secured second place in each of the Bahrain and GCC categories at the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain – Middle East Championship.

A Marketing Specialist at Zain Bahrain’s premium Zain Signature department, May Alhaji took up triathlon three years ago and was the first Bahraini woman across the finish line at Ironman 70.3 Bahrain 2015. She is a seasoned athlete who has been playing tennis she was 12 years old and ran her first full marathon in 2014. She has served as a Board Member of Bahrain Road Runners since 2012 and was appointed General Secretary of the Bahrain Triathlon Association in 2013.

Most recently, May achieved an impressive time at the Barcelona International Marathon 2017, becoming the first Bahraini woman in her age group to qualify for the Boston Marathon and London Marathon 2018.

“May is one of the top female athletes in this country and her passion and dedication continue to inspire new generations of Bahraini women to take up competitive endurance sports,” said Zain Bahrain Corporate Events Manager, Ghazi Radhi. “Zain Bahrain is very pleased to support her as she goes from strength to strength. We congratulate her on her excellent performance at the Ironman 70.3 Bahrain – Middle East Championship and we look forward to her next race with excitement.”
