Alba SHE Manager wins RoSPA 2017 Guardian Angel Award

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the Bahrain-based aluminium smelter, is proud to announce that its Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Senior Manager, Moh’d Khalil has been honoured with The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2017 Guardian Angel Award for his exceptional commitment and contribution towards the safety and health of Alba employees.

The RoSPA Guardian Angel Award recognises individuals who have made a significant difference in the safety and accident prevention through their enthusiasm and diligence.

Mohd. Khalil joined Alba in 1997 as a Security Officer. His innovative ideas and commitment to safety led to his promotion as the Fire Engineer followed by Fire Chief in 2013. He was made Manager – SHE, Fire and Security Department in 2016 and in the same year, was promoted to Senior Manager.

Moh’d has constantly endeavoured to cultivate a culture of safety for employees and contractors alike. He is commended for successfully streamlining Alba’s health and safety procedures to achieve higher levels of efficiency as well as introducing surprise safety visits in all areas of the Company.

Commenting on this occasion, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray said:

“Moh’d deserves RoSPA Guardian Angel Award for his tireless efforts towards setting high standards in safety. His ownership for safety is remarkable and has set an example on taking Safety into Tomorrowland.”

Moh’d will be presented with his RoSPA Guardian Angel Award at a ceremony at ExCeL London on June 20, 2017.
