The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy of the Bahrain Technical College (Bahrain Polytechnic) launched the first batch of 38 students.
This came under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).

Bahrain Polytechnic’s Deputy CEO of Resources and Information Affairs Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa said that the selection of the Artificial Intelligence Academy’s students was based on specific criteria subject to evaluation by a committee consisting of representatives from Bahrain Polytechnic, Microsoft, and Tamkeen, with experts in the field.
“The launch of the AI Academy is to support the call of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to strengthen Bahrain’s role in implementing sustainable development in the scientific field and focus on improving its digital economy and artificial intelligence capabilities,” he added.
