Global MMA community celebrated the birthday of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The occasion also marks the anniversary of Brave Combat Federation. Brave Combat Federation commenced operations of 23rd September, 2016. Birthday greetings flooded from across the world from athletes, officials, legends, journalists and celebrities. The inaugural edition of Brave Combat Federation was hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The initiative had so far hosted sixteen editions of the show across ten global destinations in two years of operations, becoming the fastest growing mixed martial arts organisation in the world.
Currently the organisation has over 250 athletes signed in and appeared in the organisation representing over 45 nations. Apart from the success of Brave Combat Federation, His Highness is also credited for the development of the sports of mixed martial arts in the Middle East. In 2017, Bahrain became the only nation in the world other than the United States of America to host the IMMAF World Championships during the Brave International Combat Week.
The champions of Brave Combat Federation were joined by the rest of the roster to compile a detailed birthday video which was shared by fans and athletes around the world. The second anniversary of Brave Combat Federation also attracted international journalists to take this occasion to thank the contributions by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Kingdom of Bahrain towards the growth of mixed martial arts in the region and the steps taken to create a global eco-system for the sport of mixed martial arts.
