“Cup of Art’s” events resume with the participation of young children this time. The group along with “Mashq Gallery” organised for its latest event named “a story of a painting” where talented participants authored their own short stories and later on represented them through a painting.
The event gathered a group of skillful children aged 10 years old and above. The participants authored their own short stories and attended together for the art session in order to transform their stories’ imaginative characters and details into expressive pieces of art.
The idea was inspired from “Cup of Art” group’s vision to spread art throughout the kingdom. The event is intended to develop a creative platform for children in order to get their talents discovered and motivated. The participants may in due course identify their point of strength and start to develop various techniques to improve their creativity and artistic abilities.
During our conversation with artist Rawan Al Maskati, Founding Member of “Cup of Art”, she explained ” authoring and painting are rhythmically entangled as each one of them compliments the other. no story is ever told without an imaginary painting of details and characters is shaped. This is precisely what we aim to achieve so that children are introduced to creative thinking and adopt it as an approach to life itself”.
Al Maskati added “we believe in free spirited creation, and in order to establish the perfect conditions for such free self expression, we made sure the children are free to choose their preferred language in writing their short stories.
The event was well attended by a number of authors, interested artists and supporters of the editorial and artistic movement in the kingdom of Bahrain. This rewarding crowd presented to the participants yet another added value as they got inspired by their presence and their enthusiasms.
Amongst the attendees were Dr. Nader Kadhim Cultural Studies Professor and Critic, and Author Dr. Aqeel Al Mosawi.
An exhibition is scheduled to showcase the participant’s paintings in a further initiative to boost their confidence and encourage them to strive for more.
