As part of its ongoing efforts to preserve Bahrain’s handicrafts and traditional industries for future generations, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), represented by the Handicrafts Directorate, distributed certificates to its ‘Glass Arts – Level 2’ workshop participants on the 12th of July 2018.

The workshop, conducted by the trainer, Mr. Jiyad Hassan Jawad, focused on the basic skills and techniques used in glass artistry including glass cutting, glass design, with the aim to enhance the skills of 10 participants to qualify them to become professional trainers in the field.

“It gives us great pleasure to host the workshop which comes as part of the Handicrafts Directorate’s efforts to provide craftsmen with training opportunities in order to develop their skills and abilities to create high quality products that will stand out regionally. The Handicrafts Directorate will also host other workshops throughout the year including forged iron, product packaging, leather crafting, hand embroidery and many more,” said the Director of Handicrafts Directorate, Shaikha Wafa Saif Al Khalifa.

Hosting such workshops throughout the year comes in line with the BTEA’s keenness to preserve the Kingdom’s crafts and traditional industries for future generations.
