HM King names road after late Muharraq Club football legend, Ahmed Salemin

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a telegram and expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Bahraini Muharraq Club football legend, Ahmed Youssef bin Salemin.

His Majesty the King praised the contributions of the deceased to the service of the country and the Muharraq Club along with the achievements and legacy his career has left for the future generations of football players. The status he received as a player is remembered from the local and Gulf level, a testament of his outstanding influence to the sport.

His Majesty the King has given the order to name the road adjacent to Muharraq Club after the late Ahmed Salemin.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Ayman bin Tawfeeq Al Moayed praised the initiative as a reflection of the royal keenness on paying homage and perpetuating the memory of those who provided great services to the sport movement in the kingdom, especially in football. He added Ahmed Salemin was able to set the most wonderful example throughout his career in football and a model to emulate in hard work to uphold the kingdom’s image in various gatherings.

The minister affirmed that naming the road adjacent to Muharraq Club after late Ahmed Salemin will help cherish his bright history in football since the 1950’s until he became one of Bahrain’s icons in this sport. He recalled the contributions and achievements of the late Bahraini football star, expressing condolences to the family of the deceased and the Bahraini football community.
