Aluminium Middle East, the region’s largest aluminium industry event, will once again showcase Middle East’s growing industry at its 5th edition starting tomorrow. With more than 150 exhibitors, the event is expected to attract over 3,500 industry professionals from over 80 countries to showcase aluminium products, technologies and investments in the region.

Starting tomorrow aluminium professionals and industry experts will offer insights and recommendations on the fast growing industry and will discuss the future of aluminium in the growing market. The three day event will highlight the Middle East’s future role as the world’s powerhouse in aluminium production and facilitate dialogue on uplifting the downstream sectors to support this phenomenal growth in upstream industries.

“The aluminium industry in the Middle East is witnessing exciting developments in the coming years. With the growing global demand for aluminium, estimated to reach 70 million metric tonnes per year by 2020, Aluminium Middle East provides a platform for industry insights and trends, business developments, and knowledge sharing and networking from experts within the field,” said Daniyal Qureshi, Group Exhibition Director of Reed Exhibitions Middle East, the official organizers of Aluminium Middle East.

With the recently launched Dubai Industrial Strategy, the United Arab Emirates is boosting its economic competitiveness and new initiatives post oil-era, with aluminium as one of the major economy drivers. Through this vision, UAE is looking to create an environment for knowledge and research that will offer both local and international companies immense growth opportunities in innovative industries.

Abdalla Kalban, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) said: “The aluminium industry has played a vital role in accelerating industrialisation in the Middle East. As a brand partner of the event, we welcome the opportunity to take stock of where the industry sits today and how we can amplify its positive economic impacts as we grow our businesses.”

The 2017 show will feature six international pavilions (Germany, Italy, India, China and North America) and two new dedicated zones (Occupational Safety and SMEs) meant to underscore how the Gulf Cooperation Council will focus on other related sectors,  in order to diversify their economies to ease their dependence on energy revenues.

Launched in 2009, Aluminium Middle East brings together international industry front-runners including producers, manufacturers and processors of raw materials and end products made with aluminium components, as well as suppliers of technologies and accessories for aluminium production, processing and refinement.

The fifth edition of Aluminium Middle East will run from 15-17 May 2017 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
