The Shura Council praised the unflinching royal support to citizens to enable them to exercise their religious rituals amid the current circumstances. It added that adherence to the precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) embodied community partnership and responsible cooperation which contributed to the gradual re-opening of mosques and success of Ashoora season.

In a statement marking the re-opening of mosques and conclusion of Ashoora season, the Shura Council affirmed Bahrain’s advanced status in respecting religious freedom, co-existence, peace and tolerance. It praised the government’s keenness, under the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to provide the needed services to ensure the safety of all while exercising their religious rituals.

The council commended the tireless work of the official and non-government institutions and the efforts of the security bodies to provide protection, secure roads and ensure commitment to the preemptive measures put in place by the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19). It added that the next phase requires more social awareness, national responsibility and commitment to the precautionary measures, especially with the gradual return of many sectors and activities. It stressed Bahrain’s success in fighting the virus thanks to synergized efforts, wishing Bahrain more growth and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
