These requirements included the necessity of installing rear cameras and sensors at the front of the vehicle and front corners, and placing yellow warning lights at the top of heavy vehicles, with the exception of the locomotive and trailer in which warning lights are installed in the left corner. In addition, two fire extinguishers must be placed on the sides, warning panels on both sides of the vehicle indicating the type of the loaded material, its international symbol, chemicals and flammable materials, and a sticker showing the name and phone of the company to be placed on both sides of the vehicle.

For trucks equipped with load boxes, refrigerators or curtains, the frame of the sides of the box, refrigerator, or curtains is specified with a yellow reflective phosphorescent tape, and in the back is a red reflector and reflective panels. Truck owners must install reflective warning panels on the two corners of the rear bumper or in a clear location above it.

The General Traffic Directorate has also set special specifications for the front, rear, and side protection barriers for trucks to provide effective protection to prevent vehicles from getting jammed under the truck’s body in the event of a collision, as the distances, size, quality and shape have been determined.

With regard to the cargo cover for trucks and trailers, it must be of a thick, strong and foldable quality, and it must be installed on the surface of the cargo box of the truck or trailer in the event of transporting volatile materials such as sand, stones, building debris, etc., and the cover must have an installation base at the front of the box, with rings or clips at the sides and back to install the cover. It must completely cover the cargo area in addition to covering the sides and back of the box.
