Al Salam Bank Successfully Concludes ‘Qaedat Al Salam’ Women Leadership Program

Al Salam Bank announced the successful conclusion of the ‘Qaedat Al Salam’ Women Leadership program in a special ceremony on Monday, 11 December 2023, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, in the presence of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Mustahail Al Mashani, Chairman of Al Salam Bank, Mr. Rafik Nayed, Group Chief Executive Officer of Al Salam Bank, board members of the Bank, several eminent dignitaries, including C-level executives and other notable figures from the Kingdom, as well as members of executive management and over 150 female employees who took part in the program.

The ceremony commenced with an introduction on ‘Qaedat Al Salam’, followed by opening speeches from His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Mustahail Al Mashani and Mr. Rafik Nayed. A distinguished panel discussion featuring prominent Bahraini women entrepreneurs also took place  which included Her Excellency Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, Ms. Khawla Ahmed Hasan Ebrahim, Director of the Islamic Financial Institutions Directorate at the Central Bank of Bahrain, Ms. Mashael Fairooz, Founding Partner of JEO Capital Management, and Ms. Muna Al Balooshi, Head of Human Resources and Administration at Al Salam Bank.

The event served as a knowledge-sharing platform where participants discussed their experiences, strategies to overcome challenges, achieving work-life balance, and receiving invaluable guidance to elevate their career paths for future leadership roles.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms. Muna Al Balooshi, Head of Human Resources and Administration at Al Salam Bank, said: “We would like to congratulate all the participants of ‘Qaedat Al Salam’ for completing this remarkable journey. We are proud of all their achievements over the past few months, as we celebrate a 96% satisfaction rate following the completion of the program. We remain committed to supporting our employees’ professional growth and achieving equality in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.”

Ms. Muna Al Balooshi added: “This initiative aligns with the goals of the Supreme Council for Women to empower Bahraini women and support their participation across various industries, aligning with the national strategy to promote Bahraini women’s advancement in society. The program also supports our efforts to develop employees by fostering their skills and talents, which remains our top priority at the Bank. As a result, we identified a number of eligible participants ready to take the next step in their career journeys.”

Qaedat Al Salam’ is a one-of-a-kind learning and development program with a goal to empower the Bank’s female employees after 12 weeks of 2,242 hours of training, encompassing workshops, courses, and projects on various crucial topics such as self-awareness, personal, and professional development.

Al Salam Bank strives to enhance its organizational efficiency and competitiveness through ‘Qaedat Al Salam’. This initiative seeks to establish industry leaders, promote diversity, inclusion, women empowerment, and protect women’s rights. It also aims to attract, develop, and retain Bahraini talent. The program aligns with the Bank’s commitment to becoming the largest Islamic bank in Bahrain and a leading, innovative financial institution with a proven record of high productivity.
