AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation signs MoU with King Hamad University Hospital

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King Hamad University Hospital, to provide financial support worthof BD 32,000 to treat patients withhearing impairment through cochlear implants.

The MoU was signed by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of MKF, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa and Commander of King Hamad University Hospital Major General, Dr. Shaikh Salman bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa, in the presence of a number of officials and hospital directors.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa highlighted that the initiative comes in line with MKF’s commitment to being socially responsible by providing healthcare services to different segments of the society. Her highness also praised the role of the Fund in leading humanitarian initiatives aimed at helpingthe local community.

Since its inception, numerous initiatives were implemented by the Fund including donating BD100,000 to the Bahrain Defense Force Military Hospital to purchase insulin pumps for diabetic children. The Fund also offered four scholarships to students to study medicine and Masters degree, as well as its contribution to the construction of a mosque in Riffa.

Under the directives of the daughters of Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad AlKhalifa (may Allah bestow peace upon her soul), the charity fund was set up in 2011 and is being run by AlMabarrah AlKhalifa Foundation. The Fund aims to carry out charitable and humanitarian work in aims to serve those in need and the local community as a whole.
