Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), a leading industrial company in Bahrain, is pleased to announce that it won the first place in the Lagoon (Mixed teams) and the second place in the Open Sea (Men) categories of the 2016 Annual Charity Raft Race, which was held on Friday April 15, 2016 at Al Bander Hotel & Resort, Bahrain.
The Annual Charity Raft Race – organised by the Rotary Club of Salmaniya – has become one of the biggest charity events on the island where all proceeds go towards various charities and diverse community projects throughout Bahrain. This year, the funds raised will be donated to projects dedicated to helping people with diabetes.
As one of the major supporters of sporting events in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Alba has been a regular participant and supporter throughout the Raft Race’s history. This year, the race was attended by Alba’s Chief Financial Officer, Ali Al Baqali, Chief Marketing Officer Khalid A. Latif, other Alba officials along with large number of employees.
Commenting on this occasion, Chief Financial Officer, Ali Al Baqali said:
