Bab Al Bahrain to host Traditional Gaming Tournament

The Bab Al Bahrain Mall prepares to host the traditional gaming tournament, along with a range of fun and traditional activities for the whole family to enjoy. The event comes as part of the fourth edition of the Bahrain Shopping Festival, which will run until February 10th, 2018.

The tournament will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of February 2018, showcasing the Kingdom’s long-standing heritage to residents and visitors of the Kingdom. This event will host two traditional musical shows, along with an exhibition showcasing the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain including traditional handicrafts and unique products.

The traditional games will include the domino and checkers game, which will be refereed by a group of BFA judges including Mr. Khalid Isa Al Hiddi. All visitors of the mall can participate in the games; tournament winners will have the opportunity to receive cash prizes.

Director of the Shop Bahrain Festival, Mr. Yousef Mohamed Al Khan commented: “We are delighted to host the traditional gaming tournament as part of the events taking place in participating malls. Such events show our commitment to educating residents and visitors of Bahrain’s long-standing heritage. We are also pleased to host this event at the old Manama Souq, which is considered as one of Bahrain’s most prominent touristic sites.”

“We hope that visitors enjoy this unique event and we wish all the best to the participants,” he added.

The ‘Shop Bahrain’ Festival offers a diverse shopping experience through participating malls, hotels and restaurants, allowing visitors to earn points in the Festival’s loyalty system and win valuable prizes. The Festival reflects the Kingdom’s status as a family destination, welcoming visitors and guests, which is easily accessible to neighboring countries in the Gulf through the King Fahad Causeway or the Bahrain International Airport.
