In line with its efforts to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position on the tourism industry’s regional landscape, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) kicked off its participation in the 26th edition of the Arabian Travel Market 2019, which is being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between 28th of April to 1st of May, 2019.
Bahrain’s participating delegation, which is headed by the Chief Executive Officer of BTEA, H.E. Shaikh Khaled bin Humood AlKhalifa, includes officials from BTEA and the Kingdom’s national carrier, Gulf Air in addition to representatives from leading hotels, tour operators and travel agencies.
The Arabian Travel Market is considered the region’s premier tourism event as it provides a unique platform consisting of a series of seminars and discussions that aim to address various aspects of the travel industry. Each year, the exhibition enables participants to display prominent international tourism destinations, thereby attracting a wide range of visitors and individuals specific to the travel and tourism sector, and a host of travel and tourism publications. This year’s edition will feature 500 exhibitors, with an estimate of more than 20,000 visitors expected over the course of four consecutive days.
“BTEA continues to participate in various tourism exhibitions in order to promote Bahrain as a leading tourist destination in the region, thus increasing the number of visitors coming into the Kingdom as well as developing the tourism sector as a whole. This enables progress by opening discussions the latest developments in the travel and tourism sector with the leaders in this field,” said the CEO of BTEA, H.E. Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.
The BTEA’s participation in the Arab Travel Market and Exhibition comes as part of its overall strategy to promote its tourism identity “Ours. Yours.” which focuses on promoting of the Bahraini tourism product on regional and international levels, in order to highlight the attractive tourism elements in the Kingdom and support the continuous efforts to increase the contribution of this sector in the National Economy in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Arabian Travel Market Exhibition was launched in 1994 as a small exhibition, with the participation of a limited number of companies and countries, and is now the largest travel and tourism event in the Middle East. The Exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for all industry professionals to meet, communicate, negotiate, and do business covering travel, tourism, airlines, cruising, hospitality, car rental, and spa sectors. On the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market, a number of in-depth seminars will be held in which industry experts will share the latest research, trends, and case studies in halls packed with attendees.
