BBBF Hosts Networking Lunch Meeting

Celebrating the 200th anniversary of British – Bahraini Relations. Bahrain British Business Forum Hosts “Welcome Back to Business after the Summer” Networking Lunch Meeting. Keynote Speaker Mr. Alan Rutt, country director of British Council, updated the members of the BBBF about the role of the British Council in the community during Bahrain – UK 200 anniversary year.

BBBF hosted “Welcome Back to Business after the Summer” lunch, its first networking event after the summer holiday break.  The season’s opening meeting was chaired by the BBBF Chairman, Mr. Khalid Al Zayani OBE who welcomed Mr. Alan Rutt, the country director of the British Council, as the keynote speaker at the meeting. 120 members both old and new with their guests joined the lunch at the Crowne Plaza Conference Centre.

The forum members were given a presentation by Mr. Rutt inviting both companies and individuals to participate in supporting the British Council’s Bahrain – UK 200 activities around the theme of Art and Disability.  In his address Mr. Rutt highlighted the great opportunity provided by this initiative to promote, support, inspire and contribute to the development of special needs children in Bahrain, as well as supporting the British Council’s mission to push creative boundaries and seek out more diverse collaborations in the local community.

Mr. Al Zayani also addressed the audience outlining the forum’s upcoming activities and events for the autumn, beginning with BHUK 2016 BBBF 200 years celebratory quiz night next month, as well as the monthly networking lunch. Also planned for October will be a BHUK2016 BBBF Track day in collaboration with Euro Motors. One of the highlights in Bahrain’s social calendar, the annual Poppy Ball, as well as the Chelsea Pensioners’ visit are scheduled for November. The ever popular Christmas lunch is planned for December before the final event of the year, BHUK2016 National Day golf event, concludes the year’s activities for the forum.
