Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, held a blood donation campaign this week as part of the circuit’s Health Awareness Day.
The event was organized in cooperation with King Hamad University Hospital. Many members of staff took part in the campaign, and after donating blood, they were each given a Certificate of Appreciation to commemorate their participation.
Donating blood has several health benefits. It helps reduce the risk of heart disease: Regular blood donations help to keep the levels of iron in the body in check, especially in males. This has shown to reduce heart disease.
BIC often organizes similar worthwhile initiatives for its staff members with an aim to promote a healthy lifestyle.
