The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced that it will take part in the 24th edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from the 24th to 27th April 2017 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

ATM is dubbed as the world’s leading travel industry event in the Middle East and will showcase the latest trends in the travel industry. The exhibition will be a unique platform that offers a series of seminars and ministerial meetings and will be addressing many aspects of the travel industry.

“We are keen to participate in all regional and international exhibitions and events, which is an opportunity to meet with major companies operating in the tourism sector and government agencies to discuss the latest developments, as well as attracting investments in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the development of this vital sector,” said the Chief Executive Officer of the BTEA, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.

“The tourism sector in Bahrain is witnessing remarkable growth thanks to the efforts of the BTEA and its strategy to increase the number of annual visitors in the Kingdom to reach 15.8 million visitors annually by 2018, an increase of 36.2% from the current ratio, and the tourism sector seeks to achieve a billion dollars in 2020 in GDP,” he added.

The Bahrain pavilion will witness the presence of renowned representatives of the leading hotels and leisure destinations in the Kingdom, tour organizers and travel agencies such as Sabre, Farhat International Tours and Travels, Gulf Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay and Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa Hotel.

The BTEA participated in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition last year, in conjunction with the launch of the new tourist identity under the slogan of ‘Ours. Yours.’, which was developed in cooperation with the Economic Development Board and major shareholders.

Last year, the ATM was attended by about 40,000 people, including 30,000 professional visitors, and the total value of trade transactions was $2.5 billion. The market will feature more than 2,600 exhibitors this year, and new halls have been added to meet the growing demand.
