In line with its strategy to achieve sustainable development, Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, partnered with engineering firm ByrneLooby to implement new projects to enhance the marine environment.
With the aim of finding effective and innovative solutions for the protection of coral reefs and marine life, Diyar Al Muharraq commissioned ByrneLooby to carry out a study to increase marine life, diversity and restore seagrass in Bahrain’s marine environment, focusing on Diyar Al Muharraq’s surrounding area.
Dr. Maher Al Shaer, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq stressed on Diyar Al Muharraq’s responsibility towards the environment and the protection of environment becoming a strategic objective in the real estate sector.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Maher Al Shaer stated: “Developing strategic partnerships is key in regards to exploring new technologies that could lead to successful solutions for environmental protection. We aim to develop a project that is able to keep abreast with diverse lifestyles, social and economic conditions, hence the preservation of the environment and high living standards are primary pillars in the company’s strategy.”
ByrneLooby is currently undergoing a pilot study to relocate seagrass in order to enhance existing habitats with the overall aim of increasing marine life.
