Dubai will host a new racing event showcasing the potential of electric scooters as a sustainable form of urban mobility. Organised by the Federation for Micromobility and Sport and the Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Electric Scooter Cup will be the region’s first electric scooter race and micromobility showcase. The race will take place on December 9, with twelve of the world’s top riders competing for the trophy.
All the racers will use the RS-Zero, which is billed as the world’s fastest electric scooter with a top speed of 140 kmph.
The Dubai Electric Scooter Cup is part of the UAE’s Year of Sustainability programme, and the event will promote the use of micromobility as a more sustainable alternative to traditional transportation.
The race will also highlight the safety and inclusivity of micromobility, with both male and female riders competing together.
Federation for micromobility and Sport president Alex Wurz believes that the event will showcase the potential of micromobility as a sustainable and exciting form of urban mobility.
Dubai Sports Council Secretary General Saeed Hareb echoed Wurz’s sentiments. He believes that the Dubai Electric Scooter Cup will be a showcase for the latest electronic technologies. He is also excited to welcome teams and international riders to race on the streets of the city centre.
The two officials are optimistic that the event will help promote the use of micromobility as a more sustainable alternative to traditional transportation.
