FABULOUS FRIDAY BRUNCH AT THE DOMAIN !

Fridays are meant to be savored at leisure after a week’s hard toil and busyness. Waking up late and gliding through the day in absolute indolence and relaxation is probably what most of us look forward to on Fridays. While the Island offers several brunches at various restaurants and clubs to cater to this desire, the Domain’s Friday brunch seems to be absolutely tailormade for a memorable day out with friends and family where one can catch up on good times over an almost neverending spread of delightful food and overflowing spirits! BTW was privileged to enjoy this last week and is most glad to write home about it. On reaching the hotel, we were warmly received and ushered in to the Brunch venue, Le Domain restaurant, which is one the 34th floor of the hotel. As we soared the heights inside the elevator our excitement of what awaited us grew in leaps and bounds. We walked into the restaurant greeted warmly by the staff and were mesmerized to see the view of Bahrain from such a great height! We observed that the Brunch at Domain is designed uniquely by the hotel’s culinary head, Chef Rukmal who with his years of experience and hard work has chosen a variety of dishes uniquely spread across different sections to tantalize taste buds and intrigue the palate. We were wonder-struck to see how the enormously large Brunch spread was deftly and artistically categorized as the Organic salad bar, the Cold Black Marble, Seafood on Ice Table, Fresh and Flamed, Under the Lamp, the Bakery, Classic Fresh Cheese trolley, and the Sweet Room.
Although the names of these sections are quite self-explanatory, the Restaurant Manager, Mr Sunil Ananda and Chef Rukmal walked us through every section and we were delighted to note the freshness of the food
staring from the farm vegetables, and the home-made dressings of the salad section to the various cold and hot soups, appetisers, seafood, homemade breads, and mouth-watering main courses made to order—in short, an array of culinary extravanganza that Chef Rukmal handpicked to augment the brunch with flavours from across the world! The menu hinged itself delicately on multiple cuisines from South Western Europe, the Middle East and Continental. While my friend chose Tequilla
Sunrise for her drink, I was happy to mull the choicest white wine on the offer. Everything that we could sink our teeth into tasted heavenly, and absolutely fresh! Amongst the several gourmet’s fantasy food that we had experienced, we specially remember the sushis freshly made at the live sushi counter by the hotel’s Japanese chef, the green tea marinated smoked salmon, an avocado cold soup, to name a few! What took the cherry was literally the dessert trolley that Chef Rukmal and Mr Sunil Ananda brought to our table to gift us a dramatic preparation of banana flambé and pineapple flambé as per our choice. All this, as a beautiful singer crooned soulfully at his piano and a magician was displaying his enchanting prowess! All’s well that ends well, they say! We rounded up such a sumptuous brunch with a fairy tale-like dessert room full of yummilicious desserts, fruit tarts, pastries, cakes and numerous other sweet creations! So next time you wander where to make the most of Friday, remember to walk into the Domanin hotel for an ultimate gourmet experience over this soul-sating brunch!
