“This commitment is crucial to continue implementing the plans which were put in place to deal with the virus in all its stages”, she said.

She outlined Bahrain’s steps, since the outbreak of the pandemic, to protect people’s health and mitigate its fallout, urging all sides to take part in raising public awareness, describing compliance to mandatory measures and collective social responsibility.

She reiterated the health professionals’ resolve to continue relentless efforts to combat COVID-19 and implement HRH the Crown Prince’s call for Bahrain to overcome the challenges.

She said that recklessness of some categories, which failed to comply with mandatory procedures, was the direct cause which led to the spike of infections in the past days.

“The current period is witnessing a big surge signaling a spike of infections in Bahrain”, adding that the caseload is still increasing.

The minister warned that Bahrain’s caseload will continue to surge if some irresponsible parties continue their complacency and recklessness.

She stressed the need to show collective compliance to mandatory measures and health protocols and preserve previous successes, warning that the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over.

“The medical and nursing staff and other supporting personnel who are grappling with the virus in the front deserve our recognition and appreciation of their sacrifices – by behaving responsibly and showing full commitment”, she said.
