HM King praises Bahrain’s Sports Achievements

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa congratulated His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Affairs (SCYS) Chairman, on Bahrain’s ranking first in the world for holding the half-marathon race, out of 493 races.

The race which was held in March 2019, was the first to be organized by Bahrain Athletics Association (BBA) in the Middle East, earning wide acclaim.

HM the King also congratulated HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, SCYS First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President on this occasion.

HM the King hailed the landmark sports achievement, which builds on other strides and successes in hosting major races and competitions, which contribute to consolidating Bahrain’s edge on the global sports map.

He lauded the assiduous work done by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, hailing his relentless efforts to promote sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain, draw up plans and programmes to enhance all sports, especially athletics, which paid off and yielded many championships.

HM the King also congratulated BAA Chairman Mohammed Abdullatif bin Jalal on the honourable achievement, hailing the association’s efforts to develop the sport of athletics for more regional and international achievements.
