To accommodate an increase in demand, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced that identity card centers at Isa Town and Muharraq (Seef Mall) will be open an extra day every week on Saturdays for Bahraini nationals only during the summer holidays. Starting Saturday 13th July, Bahraini nationals will be able to update their identity chips’ data during the centers’ Saturday working hours from 8am to 2pm.

The change is in accordance with the directives of His Excellency, the Minister of Interior, Lt. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to provide distinguished services to citizens. It is aimed at reducing congestion of Bahrainis during one of the busiest seasons for travel, pilgrimage, graduation, housing services and other activities.

Nationals looking to update their data should visit the National Portal bahrain.bh to book an appointment, and ensure that all the necessary documents are in hand before visiting the center.

The branches will continue operating as per their regular hours during the rest of the week, from Sunday to Wednesday (7am to 6pm), and on Thursday (7am to 2:30pm).
