McLaren Bahrain hosted the first McLaren GT: The Drive event in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as part of the regional dynamic debut of the superlight Grand Tourer at the Al Areen Palace & Spa in Zallaq.

The new McLaren GT is the fourth model launched under the company’s Track25 business plan, and the first car from McLaren to truly focus on a daily-drive away from the track. It challenges the conventions of the Grand Tourer category with a compelling blend of beautiful design, high-quality innovative materials and comfort designed for long distance driving.

Positioned alongside the established Sports, Super and Ultimate Series families, this is a new McLaren for a new audience and provides an alternative to existing products in an expanding market segment. With generous storage space and a comfortable cabin, the new McLaren GT features a core carbon fibre structure that possesses exceptional strength and rigidity without compromising the quality of the driving experience.

The McLaren of Grand Tourers – McLaren’s modern interpretation of the classic GT is superlight, yet supremely comfortable, and powered by a 620PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, providing supercar performance. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds and on to 326km/h; carrying up to 570 litres of luggage – enough for a grand tour for two people.

Customers, prospects, shareholders, media and select VIP guests mingled with like-minded supercar lovers at the event and were treated to an exclusive private drive experience.

“McLaren Bahrain promised to give our customers and fans the best supercar experiences and we continue to deliver on that promise with McLaren GT: The Drive. The event allows our key stakeholders to experience the car in a beautiful location and amongst other supercar enthusiasts.”

Trevor Fletcher, Head of McLaren Bahrain
