Plan on renting your home, building or shop?.. Stressing paper work will take forever to complete?.. Whether you’re the property owner or tenant, the online service ‘Lease Contract Services’ got your back to instantly register for both residential and commercial lease agreements.

Accessible on the eGovernment National Portal (bahrain.bh) by the Ministry of Justice & Islamic Affairs and the Information & eGovernment Authority, the multiple services allow landlords and renters to register for their contracts as well as check status at any time and place, without the need to visit governmental entities. Applicants may apply for properties intended for housing, industrial, commercial, professional, crafting or for any other purposes; with the exception of agricultural lands, a property leased for hotels or tourism purposes along with other excluded properties (stated on the portal).

The launch of this service came about to reduce any disputes that may rise between the landlord and tenant; boosting more confidence of the public in the Bahraini real estate market since details of the contract are documented and verified online – going through a contract specialized committee in the events of any disputes that may occur. The presence of the committee avoids the need to head to courts in addition to shortening the timeframe of settling cases by not exceeding a period of three months.

To ease your registration process, a batch of services are provided such as the ‘Lease Contract Registration’ which enables property owners or tenants – Bahraini citizens, foreigners, GCC residents, companies or governmental entities – to register for housing or commercial lease contracts by entering required details then proceed with the payment. Another service is also available to register contracts between multiple parties (landlords and tenants) for several properties; alongside the ‘Registered Contract Verification’ service which allows applicants to enquire about previously registered contracts by entering required details.

For any enquiries on the eServices; please call the National Contact Center on 8000 8001 or contact us via the National Suggestions & Complaints System ‘Tawasul’ at Bahrain.bh/tawasul.
