We all know that water is one of the most precious resources. Many of us have no issue leaving the tap water running but later we’re shocked to see the huge amount of the bill. Overlooking a tiny action like this can lead to consequences we choose to ignore.

So why not implement some easy steps that can help in saving water and electricity which in turn will reduce your bill as well?

For a start, one of the ways to save water is to use drippers for gardening. These have many advantages including: reduced water consumption, equalized water distribution to all plants along with reduced human effort and expense.

While cleaning floors it is always better to use a mop and bucket instead of leaving the hose running. Using a restricted-flow showerhead saves 15 gallons of water during a 10-minute shower. Also, always make sure that your shower time is not too long.

Adding to the above, use your thermometer as a home energy saving device to measure the hot water temperature coming out of your tap. Turn the hot water temperature down on your heater if the temperature is above 49C or 120F. This helps conserve energy.

While washing clothes by hand, use a wash tub instead of a running tap.

A lot of us wash the car by ourselves. It’s always better to use a bucket of water instead of using a hose and waste water for no reason.
