Strongest Bahraini Man Championship 2018 held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, and organized by HHSK Media Office will start tomorrow on February 22 to 24 at Bahrain Bay under the slogan #Stay_Monster, in Bahrain Bay.
The championship is aimed at promoting the Bahraini youth and sports movement. The event is the first of its kind in the Kingdom will include four weight categories.
“The event will also have four different categories of competitions, first is the basic competitions, second is the accompanying games, third is the kids games and fourth is photography contest,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
“We have a huge number of registrations. It was open to all to register, they just needed to be in good health. The competition allows the use of belt but does not allow lifting assistants.” he added.
An event was held at Wyndham Grand hotel yesterday to explain the rules of the competition to contestants. Meanwhile, the revenues from the competition will go for supporting cancer patients.
Humood Jassim, a cancer survivor who was at the event, applauded HH Shaikh Khalid’s decision to support cancer patients.
His Highness appreciated the efforts and support by 61 supporting governmental and private institutes, media companies and agencies, and the ministries who shows their concerning in supporting the initiatives that His Highness launch to support Bahrain youths and to keep up with the vision of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
