The Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the authority’s participation in the 24th Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre until April 27.
During the meetings, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa discussed the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts focused on positioning the Kingdom on the international tourism map and promoting Bahrain as a leading hospitality destination.
Meetings were held with representatives from Al Tayyar Travel Group, Expedia and Al Mosafer.
“Bahrain boasts world class tourist facilities suitable for business and trade travellers. We are also proud that the Kingdom is the prime destination for family tourism in the Gulf,” he added.
His Excellency also stressed on the importance of the role of travel and tourism companies in attracting tourists and further bolstering the tourism sector as an important economic driver able to achieve sustainable development.
H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa also praised the participation of the authority in regional and international exhibitions and events, which is an opportunity to meet with major companies operating in the tourism sector and government bodies to discuss the latest developments and attract investments to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
