eGovernment Excellence Award Nomination Doors Open

The Organizing Committee of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2017 – held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak AlKhalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information & Communication Technology – announced that the nomination period for the award is open until Thursday 22nd June. Those interested to participate may submit their work on the award’s official website www.egovaward.bh

The committee invited all governmental entities to take part in the category ‘Best Practice in Community eParticipation’ which contributes in enhancing their image in the community since entities employ the latest technological advancements in providing society services that benefit the public alongside the primary services they present. This participation supports the achievement of the eGovernment Program out-of-which all government entities participate in its accomplishment.

The committee also invited public and private entities to participate in the category ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’ which falls within the Multi Sector in the award. The category grants entities which provide smart devices applications utilized for advanced technologies to improve the level of services as well as reduce costs, time and effort to complete a transaction or a set of transactions by exchanging information and accomplishing transactions. This participation provides a competitive opportunity for these applications in a constructive manner that contributes in presenting a variety of apps in the market and opens the doors for more partnerships between the two sectors.

In its 9th version, the award continues to reward and highlight innovative as well as pioneering initiatives within the ICT sector by creating a competitive, constructive environment where everyone – whether public, private sectors or individuals – seek to present projects, services and innovative systems which provide the highest levels of benefits to users while adhering to Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

All government entities, businesses, civil society institutions and citizens may submit their work to take part in the award. Such participation benefits them by enriching their ICT knowledge and enhancing the value of their organization’s brand in this sector; additionally, the winning organization gains the position of a successful entity in the country since it advances other organizations’ quality of products and services provided in a field that thrives at a rapid, competitive pace. In addition to having the opportunity of communicating and cooperating between participating organizations and individuals, along with the ability to improve their work based on comments provided by the jury committee for all participants.

This year’s Government Awards categories comprise ‘Best eGovernment Website’, ‘Best Government-to-Government eService’, ‘Best Practice in Community eParticipation’, and ‘Best eGovernment Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses’. While Multi Sectors Awards categories encompass ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’; combined with Citizen Awards categories of both ‘Best eConcept’ and ‘eCitizen’.
