The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has been announced as the exclusive sponsor of IRONKIDS, the children’s running competition held in conjunction with the IRONMAN triathlon, which will take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Thursday 7th December 2023.
The Bank’s sponsorship reflects its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles among children and youth, while being aligned with its dedication to social responsibility and ESG practices. NBB’s support for this important sporting event will inspire and encourage young athletes as well as promote physical fitness and wellbeing.
This year’s IRONKIDS will see children take part in races of different lengths depending on their age, with the oldest; those born in 2006 running a distance of 1.5km, and those born in 2019 running 100m. Parents, family members, and friends will be in attendance to cheer on the young athletes, creating a supportive and vibrant atmosphere.
The Bank’s support has also paved the way for the development of the NBB IRONKIDS Village, a dedicated space for children to engage in entertaining activities. The village will be operational from 5th to 8th December 2023, running parallel with the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship, which the Kingdom is hosting for the seventh year running and will draw more than 1,500 local and international athletes, from over 80 countries.
NBB’s sponsorship will enable the event to reach a wider audience and attract more participants than ever before, encouraging a greater number of children to embrace physical activity and make healthier choices in their everyday lives.
