Southern Governor His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has announced the launch of the second edition of a social security programme aimed at fostering social and security culture among young people. The virtual programme was announced during a coordination meeting held in the presence of Deputy Southern Governor Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dusari as well as officers and representatives from the General Directorate of Traffic, the Royal Academy of Police, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the Community Police Directorate and the General Directorate for Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security.
The Southern Governor affirmed that the launch of the programme comes after the success of its first edition. He added it aims at enhancing security and social awareness among young people by providing them with guidelines through the use of the Visual Communication Technology (VCT) to raise their awareness of informatics risks, prevent exposure to them and reduce their impact through correct and interactive use of the social media networks.
The Southern Governor expressed thanks and respect for the efforts exerted by the security directorates taking part in the programme, praising their keenness on cooperation by providing lectures and workshops and casting light on the main challenges facing youngsters to boost their awareness and safety.
Registration in HH the Governor’s programme will take place from September 6 to 17 through the Southern Governorate’s website www.souhern.gov.bh. The programme will kick off on September 20 and continue till October 6 for boys and girls aged 15 to 25 in the Southern Governorate.
The first edition of the programme was highly appreciated by citizens as it is considered the first of its type in promoting awareness and the security culture among the youth to prepare them for assuming security and social responsibilities.
