Bahrain efforts to the 18th edition of the Asian Games noted

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar received in Jakarta president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Shaikh Ahmed Al Fahd Al Subah of Kuwait, who is attending part of the 18th Asian Games, being held in Jakarta and Palembang.

Shaikh Ahmed noted the active interaction of the Bahrain delegation and their contributions to the 18th edition of the Asian Games, thanks to the significant support of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.

Shaikh Ahmed also commended the results of the Bahrain handball team at the games and reaching the semi-finals, and also congratulated the athletics team on winning the first medal at the games through Al Hassan Al Abbasi, who took the men’s marathon silver.

On his part, Askar lauded the efforts and contributions of the OCA in the development and prosperity of sports in Asia by organizing a string of programmes and activities, such as the Asian Games which is regarded the second multi-sport event in the World after the Olympic Games.
