Bahrain Polytechnic Team Won 2nd Place in Huawei ICT Competition in China

The Bahrain Polytechnic team has achieved second place in the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-23 (Network Track) which took place in Shenzhen, China, where they represented the Kingdom of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic. The students Dana Kamal, Hussain Hasan, and Joud Ebrahim were selected from 400 students representing 146 teams from 36 countries who competed for the award.

Commenting on the Polytechnic’s remarkable achievement, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, congratulated the students on this occasion and encouraged them to continue competing to raise the name of the Polytechnic and the Kingdom of Bahrain at an international level. He added: “This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty. Our student team worked tirelessly to prepare for this competition and their success is a true representation of their commitment. We would like to express our gratitude to Huawei, the leading global ICT provider for organizing such inspiring flagship programs that provide students with valuable hands-on IT training.”

Mr. Fayyad, an ICT Lecturer at Bahrain Polytechnic, served as the students’ supervisor throughout their journey, and he expressed his gratitude to Huawei Bahrain for their valuable contribution in enhancing students’ skills in the ICT sector. He acknowledged their efforts in training and nurturing promising talents in this field, while also recognizing their support during the team’s successful journey. He added “Huawei’s yearly ICT competition, which has consistently attained remarkable success in recent years, serves as a platform to showcase the immense potential of young talents in the field of information and communication technology. This acts as a crucial foundation for the advancement of social and economic development systems, as well as the establishment of digital economies.”

Mr. Fayyad extended his congratulations to the victorious students for their achievement, while extending his best wishes to them in their future endeavors.

The three students conveyed their appreciation to the management of Bahrain Polytechnic for the continued support and guidance provided to them throughout their journey towards achieving remarkable success. They emphasized that the competition was an incredible experience, acknowledging that their accomplishments would not have been possible without the support from the Polytechnic management and the consistent guidance and encouragement from Mr. Omar Fayyad.
