Bahrain Red Crescent Society sends volunteers to a training camp in Italy

Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) sent a number of its volunteers to participate in the “Youth Camp for Relief and Humanitarian Work“, which was held recently in the Italian city of Sulfino, along with more than ten thousand volunteers from 140 countries.

The Bahraini Red Crescent volunteers met with the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Francesco Rocca, who visited the camp and talked with everyone about the importance of relief and humanitarian work in providing assistance to needy people, victims, refugees and victims, especially in light of the increasing human suffering in conflicts, conflicts and natural disasters. the world.

The Bahrain Red Crescent volunteers participated in the discussion of the new 2030 strategy of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, where they presented their views on the development of this strategy from the perspective of young volunteers. The volunteers also followed a number of workshops explaining the challenges faced by volunteers during their work Humanitarian and humanitarian solutions through the search for solutions through collective action and exchange of ideas.

The activities of the camp included a cultural day in which the Bahraini Red Crescent volunteers participated in the event, introducing other volunteers around the world to the history and civilization of Bahrain, distributing relevant booklets and publications, and presenting some of Bahrain’s commemorative gifts, as well as sports, football, tennis, table and climbing.

The Bahrain Red Crescent team was chosen to be part of the “Enamel” team, which walked the front of the march carrying the great flag of the Red Crescent and the Red Cross for 13 kilometers traveled by volunteers in about four hours on foot.

The Secretary-General of the Bahrain Red Society, Dr. Fawzi Amin, praised the successful participation of the volunteers of the association at the Salfrino training camp in Italy and the demonstrated discipline and competence of the volunteers in dealing with the various training vocabulary contained in this global camp. Dr. Amin pointed out that the symbolism of this training camp emanates from the city of Salfreno, which witnessed on June 24, 1859 the outbreak of a battle that bore the name of this city. He pointed out that this external participation of the volunteers of the Association comes within the framework of the Association’s keenness to invest in its cadres of Bahraini energies, and to provide its employees with the latest international knowledge and skills and ensure their readiness to perform their duty to provide assistance to victims and victims whenever required.
