BTECH Shines at Inaugural GITEX Africa Setting Stage for Technological Transformation

The Bahrain Technology Companies Society “BTECH”, recently took part in the inaugural edition of GITEX Africa. The event, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, spanned from May 31 to June 2 in Marrakech, Morocco.

GITEX Africa is a renowned global exhibition that serves as a gathering for technology leaders, government officials, SMEs, start-ups, investors, and academics. It offers a platform of international significance, enabling participants to showcase the latest innovations and advancements in the industry, engage in discussions on a range of relevant topics, foster cooperation, and establish valuable relationships.

BTECH actively participated in the event located at Hall 8, 8C-52, organized by WorkSmart for Events Management. This participation was driven by BTECH’s commitment to showcasing the promising capabilities of Bahraini IT companies on a global stage. It is aimed to highlight the achievements and rapid progress made by these companies in nurturing talents and skills in technology and innovation. Additionally, it emphasized their crucial role in fostering the acceleration of technological advancements in promising technical domains.

On the second day of the exhibition, Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy, the CEO of WorkSmart, participated in a panel discussion at the CEO Forum on the Innovation Stage. The topic of the discussion was “Driving ESG from the Boardroom.” The forum gathered CEOs from participating companies, international technical institutions, and global innovation centers. Its objective was to explore the role of boards of directors in attaining corporate social and environmental responsibility, as well as ensuring the implementation of ethical and social standards across all aspects of corporate operations.

Mr. Al Hujairy delved into the topic of identifying crucial criteria and indicators for sustainable performance within the technology sector. He emphasized the importance of implementing sustainability practices in the operations of technology companies, striking a harmonious equilibrium between social and environmental responsibilities while sustaining performance levels. Additionally, he shed light on setting priorities and effectively allocating resources to achieve sustainable objectives, offering guidance to companies on fostering innovation and investing in renewable energy and green technology projects.

BTECH’s participation in this exhibition successfully accomplished several objectives, with a primary focus on providing support to entrepreneurs and startups taking part in the event. Society’s commitment to social responsibility was evident as it aimed to benefit these individuals and their ventures. Another significant aim was to leverage this important gathering as an opportunity to stay informed about the latest technical products and innovative digital services.

Furthermore, BTECH actively encouraged innovation and investment in startups, fostering the emergence of fresh ideas and projects that align with Society’s vision of enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem while supporting innovation and technological advancements.

During GITEX Africa, BTECH engaged with visitors at the Bahraini pavilion and interacted with companies, the business community, and individuals interested in innovations and digital solutions. It provided them with comprehensive information on the latest technologies and innovations developed by Bahraini companies, highlighting their transformative role in enhancing service quality, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring reliability across various sectors.
