Bahraini Women Entrepreneurs Lead Panel at Global Week

The Supreme Council for Women”, in partnership with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen“, organized an engaging panel discussion that hosted prominent Bahraini women entrepreneurs from various sectors. The panelists discussed the opportunities and challenges they faced during their entrepreneurial journey.

The panel included Hala Almoayyed, Chief Executive Officer of Almoayyed Contracting Group, who spoke about her successful experience in the construction sector, where women are generally underrepresented. She was joined by Eman Al-Sabah founder of Fablemill, who addressed the role of women in filmmaking specifically and in the creative sector in general, and Dania Al-Shuwaikh Co-founder of Daleel, who tackled the opportunities available to women in the rapidly evolving FinTech sector. The discussion also featured Aida Al-Mudaifa, Founder of Early Riser, who highlighted the most prominent challenges facing startups in terms of growth and expansion.

The event took place at “Riyadat Center” which is the women business incubator that was established in partnership between the Supreme Council for Women, Tamkeen, and Bahrain Development Bank.

Since inception, Tamkeen has supported more than 15,000 women-led enterprises and enabled more than 7,000 women to launch their entrepreneurial concepts. In addition, 407 women benefited from the Riyadat portfolio to finance their businesses with a total value of BHD 9.44 million.be numerous On the human capital front, more than 72,000 women have benefited from various training and employment support initiatives.

This event comes as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, which the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates annually with various events aimed at startups and entrepreneurs. This year’s edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week was held between 14th and 21st November 2023 and featured 35 events.
